Qiaobo Ice & Snow World – Enjoy skiing all year round

Feeling like skiing? Why not? Qiaobo Ice and Snow World (乔波冰雪世界 / Qiaobo Bingxue Shijie) is an indoor ski and skating resort located in Shaoxing County less than 90 minutes from Ningbo. Qiaobo Ski Dome offers an amazing snow setting to enjoy skiing, snowboarding and tobogganing, or just playing in the snow. Young or old, there is something for everyone, from the beginner to the snow sport enthusiast. Qiaobo Ice and Snow World is a unique attraction to enjoy real snow near Ningbo all year round.

Qiaobo Ice & Snow World (乔波冰雪世界 / Qiaobo Bingxue Shijie) is located in Keqiao Town (柯桥) of Shaoxing County (绍兴) which is very famous as the “capital of cloth”. The place is only 120 kms from Ningbo (Toll gate Ningbo West) and very easy to find. Follow the Hangyong Expressway and exit at Keyan/Keqiao (柯岩/柯桥), go straight on the Jin Keqiao Dadao (金柯桥大道) till the end, turn left and go 1 km, then turn on the right to Ke Nan Dadao (柯南大道), you will soon see a big poster of the ski dome on your left side. It takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes to get there by car from Ningbo.

Qiaobo Ice & Snow World is the only indoor ski dome in Zhejiang province that includes an ice skating stadium and a restaurant providing Chinese and Western fast food including sandwiches and hotdogs. The ski dome is wonderful for ski lovers. It’s about 40,000 sqm with ski runs from 30 meters long, slope of 3º until 300 meters long and the slope of 17 º. So no matter if you are a total beginner or a already a skilled skier, you will just love the place.

Why is the place called Qiaobo? It is in fact the name of a former female Chinese speed skater (Miss Ye Qiaobo) who competed in the 1992 and 1994 Olympic Winter Games. In 1992 she won the silver medal in both the 500m and 1000m competitions. Miss Qiaobo who also loves skiing is the one at the origin of the project invested by Qinghua Science and Technology Group.
Miss Qiaobo opened her first Ice and Snow World in Beijing in 2007 followed by the one we are introducing right now (Shaoxing) in October 2009.
But Miss Qiaobo wants to go even further and plans opening other ski domes in China. The next one will be in Nanjing (2011) with a 500 meters long piste and a top quality hotel underneath the dome for guests to be able to stay several days. Then other domes construction in Chengdu and Guangzhou should follow...

Below is the price list of the ski dome. This following prices are INCLUDING the ski boots and a pair of skis. If you go there regularly, there even are more discounts.

We liked: The place rent very small children sets, even for 3 years old kids. There are coaches who can give lessons to beginners with rates starting from 150RMB/hour.
