The new station is located south of Xingning Road, in between of Sangtian Road and Fuming Road, opposite to the ocean world, in the back of the Ceramics market.

If you drive, you can take Xingning Road (兴宁路), turn south to Sangtian Road （桑田路）, after 50 meters turn left in a new road called “Zhanqian Road (站前路)”.
The station is after 300 meters on your right. (Be careful, this new road is a one-way road, you can only go from west to east). Public parking is available.

15 new buses lines will serve the new station including: 10/12/18/123/201/335/388/505/516/522/541/620/758/782/903. There will also be free shuttles bringing passengers from the East Railway Station to the South Bus Station.

The photos you can see below were taken on the 28th of August and opening is planned for September the 8th (only 11 days remaining!). Although Chinese workers can be very quick, it might still need a few more weeks for all sections to be opened. But the new area will look great and many shops will open around the station.

The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival (Zhongqiujie - 中秋节), is one of the most important holidays in the Chinese calendar. Traditionally on this day, Chinese family members and friends will gather to admire the bright mid-autumn harvest moon and eat moon cakes together. In 2010, the Moon festival will occur on September the 22nd. To celebrate this cultural event, Ningbo Nanyuan Group organized a "Mid-Autumn Poem-Reciting Competition" only open to foreigners.

中秋节，外国人也把它翻译成月亮节，是中国最重要的传统节日之一。按照传统，在这一天，中国家庭会团聚一堂，共赏中秋明月，分享醇美月饼。2010年的中秋节将在9月22日到来。为了庆祝这个富含文化意蕴的传统节庆，挟去年成功举办之势，南苑酒店集团倾情主办了“2010南苑·外国友人中秋诗会”。

One of the main changes is that we decided to create a new classification taking every aspects of a hotel into consideration. Stars or diamonds rating systems are not worldwide standards and are limited as they mainly concern the hardware/facilities side.

Based on a list of options, the level of quality of service and guest care is not the priority and is difficult to measure especially when local and foreign guests have different needs. So the new classification includes many parameters. For example, the "International Luxury Hotel" category requires a front desk with foreign English speaking staff or highly qualified English speaking local staff.

Have you noticed how some hotels provide kind and warm reception with staff opening your taxi's door, immediately taking your luggage while others might wait for you to first come inside the lobby? These positive attitudes often coming from a serious in-house training, like lots of other parameters, must of course also be taken in consideration.

The new categories are now very clearly identified by colors on the right sidebar of every page and the navigation has also been improved and now readers can easily jump from one page to another wherever they are inside a section. For example one person reading the "Howard Johnson Overview" has now 3 places with links (top, side and bottom page) to other Howard Johnson pages (rooms, bathrooms, facilities, restaurants). Progressively and as we complete the site's content, all pages will have these type of links.

Of course the main upgrade concerns the content. Not a single site on the web offers such detailed reviews/surveys with so many photos. This of course takes time because our team members stay in every hotel and personally take note of every points mentioned on our pages.

But the result is worth as NingboHOTELreview gives the most accurate information on the subject. With some other sites displaying outdated elements often quickly copied/pasted from other sources, you can hardly tell the difference between one hotel and another. Not enough information or wrong information means customers making a very subjective choice by only checking very few basic parameters like hotel's location and price. They often miss the good places and the good places miss them too!

Sometimes residents also miss a lot privileges they were entitled to. We recently met a person who did not know her hotel had a shuttle service, did not know all drinks in her room were free (club floor) and also did not know she could have a free late check-out (4:00pm). This person waited more than 4 hours sitting in the airport while she could have been staying in her room reading or watching a movie then taking the free hotel shuttle bus. She would arrived at the airport on time well rested and energetic.

Lack of information means customers might skip quite a few options they were entitled to. In a way the hotel saves money but what about customers complaining and not coming back because of lack of services which were in fact available.

Misunderstandings due to bad communication (not every staff speaks English/ not every visitor speaks Chinese) and lack of information are often the roots of conflicts in hotels as well as other similar service entities too. Hopefully with NingboHOTELreview, foreign travelers may know exactly what options/privileges/timetables are offered in every hotel and can make a smart choice based on true facts.

In the end not only guests but also hotels will benefit of a better communication and NingboHOTELreview can help a lot on both sides!

Mr Chen Guo Qiang - 陈国强 (Vice General Secretary of Ningbo Municipal People's Government) joined the event and held a great friendly speech welcoming Xuyi. 宁波市政府办公室副秘书长陈国强出席了盛会并致词。

The diner banquet was fantastic with an impressive menu including delicious dishes like "Braised Shark's Fin in Soy Sauce", " Fried Beef Ribs with Vegetable", "Deep Fried Three Delicacies" and of course the famous small lobsters from Xuyi! The show from Ningbo Singing and Dancing troupe was very professional and the hundreds of guests attending the dinner often interrupted their meal for applause as they were amazed by the quality of these artists. The whole event was covered by TV channels and many Press photographers, including NingboHotelReview reporters.
